Secure file transfer in your own cloud

Send large files with expiring links and collect files from anyone, with no third party in between. Sendless deploys into your own AWS account with one click, and your files never leave it.

Free Community edition · Ready in about 5 minutes · Delete the stack and it's gone

The Sendless send page: three files ready to upload, with a title, a message, a 7-day expiry, a limit of 10 opens and a password.

Why Sendless

Your account, your data

Files live in an S3 bucket in the Region you choose. Nothing passes through us, there's no telemetry, and even license keys are checked offline.

One-click deploy

One CloudFormation template creates storage, API, sign-in and the web app. Updating is a stack update; deleting the stack removes everything.

Fully serverless

No servers or containers to patch. CloudFront, Lambda, DynamoDB and S3 scale with use, so an idle installation costs next to nothing.

Secure by default

Expiring links, download limits, passwords with lockout, encryption and TLS everywhere. Expired files are deleted for real, with a hard limit in S3.

Everything you need to exchange files

For your team, your customers and your partners. Recipients need no account.

Large files

Resumable multipart uploads straight from the browser to S3, up to 5 TB per file.

Expiring links

Links expire after the time you choose, after a number of downloads, or when you revoke them.

Password protection

Optional passwords, checked on the server, with a lockout after repeated wrong attempts.

File requests

Send a request link and let customers or partners upload files to you, without an account.

Email and notifications

Email links to recipients and get an email when your link is opened, sent through Amazon SES.

Activity log

See when a link was opened and which files were downloaded, with IP address and country.

Team management

Invite users, allow self sign-up for your email domains and appoint admins. Users can add MFA to their sign-in.

Guaranteed deletion

A sweeper removes expired files every 15 minutes, and an S3 lifecycle rule sets a hard upper limit.

English and German

A clean, accessible interface in English and German, with light and dark themes.

What a recipient sees after entering the password: the message, the expiry date and the files, each with a download button.
What recipients see: no account, no app, just the files.
A transfer's page for the sender: status, expiry, opens used, the files and an activity log showing when the link was opened.
What you see: status, remaining opens and every access.

Up and running in three steps

You need an AWS account and permission to create IAM roles. That's it.

  1. Launch the stack

Open the launch link, pick your Region and enter the administrator's email. CloudFormation builds everything in about five minutes.

  2. Sign in and invite your team

The administrator gets a temporary password by email. Add your privacy and imprint links, then invite users or allow sign-up for your domain.

  3. Send and receive files

Upload files, share the link and follow the activity. When a link expires, its files are deleted.

What runs in your account

  • Amazon CloudFront
  • Amazon S3
  • AWS Lambda
  • Amazon DynamoDB
  • Amazon Cognito
  • Amazon EventBridge
  • Amazon SES optional
  • Amazon GuardDuty Pro, optional

No Lambda@Edge and no global services holding your data: everything stays in the Region you deploy to, which keeps data residency simple. Use your own domain with a certificate from AWS Certificate Manager.

Free to start, Pro when you need it

Both editions run from the same template. A Pro license key unlocks more features; there's nothing to reinstall.

Questions and answers

Can SilverLining.Cloud see my files?

No. Sendless runs entirely in your AWS account. Files go straight from the browser to your S3 bucket and back. There is no telemetry, and Pro license keys are verified offline.

Do recipients need an account?

No. Recipients open the link in their browser and, if you set one, enter the password. Only people who send files or create file requests sign in.

What does it cost to run?

There's no fixed infrastructure cost. You pay AWS for what you use, mainly storage and data transfer out to the internet, so an idle installation costs close to nothing.

How large can files be?

Up to 5 TB per file. Administrators set the maximum size and number of files per transfer.

Which Regions are supported?

Any commercial AWS Region that offers Lambda function URLs and Amazon Cognito. Malware scanning also needs GuardDuty Malware Protection for S3 in that Region.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes. Enter a name such as files.example.com and a certificate from AWS Certificate Manager when you launch the stack, then point a CNAME record to CloudFront.

How do updates work?

Update the stack with the template of the new release. The template pins checksums of the code, so exactly the published release is deployed.

How do I remove Sendless?

Delete the stack. Sendless empties its buckets first, so nothing is left behind in your account.
